RIGHT TIMING (f, 3, Not This Time–Elusive Amber, by Quality Road) found a home on the turf with a smart victory to break her maiden at third asking for trainer Chad Brown and owner/breeder Three Chimneys.
Unveiled Mar. 7 at Tampa over the main track, she was run down late in that six-furlong maiden to run second and was fourth last out at Keeneland Apr. 11 when testing a furlong farther.
Moved to the grass and again adding real estate for this third try, the 4-5 betting choice was content to watch the action unfold from just off the pace as a 59-1 longshot led them into the far bend after six panels in 1:12.62. Overtaking that one and opening up a clear advantage turning for home, Right Timing kicked away well to win by 4 1/4 lengths over fellow Not This Time filly River Ride.
The victress is the first to make the races for Elusive Amber after her 2022 Gun Runner died as a foal. The mare has since produced a yearling filly by Practical Joke, but her 2026 Newgate foal was stillborn.
4th-Belmont The Big A, $85,000, Msw, 5-10, 3yo/up, f/m, 1mT, 1:35.79, fm, 4 1/4 lengths.
